The Clear Spaces Counselling therapeutic approach is holistic, experiential and collaborative. Clear Spaces offers practical, step-by-step support, providing you with opportunities to positively transform your life. Foundational approaches include, but are not limited to, the following:
Person-Centred: Unconditional positive regard and the client's ability for self-direction.
Bowen's Systems Family-of-Originand Internal Family Systems framework: Examines the impact of unconscious belief patterns passed down through generations, and how we internalize these belief patterns which impact our daily behaviours.
Transpersonal: Literally translated as 'beyond self'. This approach considers problems within a spiritual context, beyond the egoic (fear-based) mind. A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is one of the foundational texts.
Mindfulness: An empowering and ongoing practice for restoring mental and emotional equilibrium by bringing you into the present moment.
Cognitive: Practical tools for understanding, developing awareness, and shifting the relationship of thought patterns to emotions and behaviour.
Strengths Based: Focus on client's strengths and inner resources to bring about positive changes in their lives.
Compassion-focused: Learn how to provide kindness and compassion to all parts of oneself.
Gestalt: Experiential body-centred approach which supports clients in understanding their current life situation and relationships by focusing on the present moment, rather than what they perceive happened in the past. Helps to resolve past conflicts and to develop a deeper understanding of oneself by by-passing the logical mind.
