The Clear Spaces Counselling therapeutic approach is holistic, experiential and collaborative. Practical tools are provided to support you in navigating life's challenges and calming your nervous system. Foundational approaches include:
Person-Centred: Unconditional positive regard and non-judgment; honours your ability for self-direction.
Systemic Family-of-Origin: Examines the impact of unconscious belief patterns passed down through generations, and how we internalize these belief patterns which impact our daily behaviours.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): By understanding the various 'parts' (for example the Inner Critic) of our mind, each with their own motivations and roles, we can foster internal harmony and access and lead our lives from our 'Core Self'.
Transpersonal: Literally translated as 'beyond self', this approach considers problems within a spiritual context, beyond the egoic (fear-based) mind.
Mindfulness-Based: An empowering practice for restoring mental and emotional equilibrium by returning your attention to the present moment.
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Practical tools for understanding, developing awareness, and shifting the relationship of thought patterns to emotions and behaviour.
Strengths Based: Focus on client's strengths and inner resources to bring about positive life changes.
Compassion-focused: Learn how to provide kindness and compassion to all parts of oneself.
Somatic: Experiential body-centred "bottom-up" approach supports clients in understanding their current life situation and relationships by focusing on the present moment and understanding how emotions are held in the body. Helps to resolve past conflicts and to develop a deeper understanding of oneself by by-passing the logical mind.
